Immokalee businesses get advantage on federal contracts
When it comes to procuring contracts and work for federal projects - big and small - Immokalee companies have an added advantage.
Immokalee is, among other designations, an official designated HUBZone by the U.S. government and the U.S. Congress requires the federal government to award at least 3 percent of all federal contracts to businesses located in designated HUBZones.
And while 3 percent may not sound like much at first blush, it is a significant amount when one considers the U.S. government spends over $500 billion annually on federal contracts.
You can call the Immokalee Community Redevelopment Agency, 239-252-2310, to learn more and you can read more about HUBZones here.
