Immokalee farm fetched over $10 million at auction

An Immokalee farm fetched over $10 million at auction last week.

The farm, an 1,151-acre property formerly owned by Grainger Farms of Bradenton, went on the auction block as part of Grainger’s bankruptcy proceedings, according to the Naples Daily News.

The auctioned farm actually straddles the county line separating Collier from Hendry counties. (The photo you see is not the actual farm.)

“The farmland is suitable for vegetable crops, as well as citrus,” reports the Daily News. “The undisclosed buyer is paying about $8,862 an acre for the land. The sale is expected to close in 30 days.”

The final auction bid was $10.2 million.
