Existing Conditions:
This convenience store/gas station has its original storefront which is deteriorating and also has faded red metal shingles on the mansard roof. The parking lot is old, oil stained and rough. In addition, the concrete sidewalks need cleaning to remove old gum spots and other stains, and could use concrete staining to improve the appearance of the concrete.
 
Proposed Improvements:
The old mansard roof coverings will be removed and replaced with a new Perma Tile “S” Type metal roofing system, blue in color. The old storefront will be removed and replaced with a new storefront including new entry doors. New exterior soffit lighting will be installed under the mansard roofing structure. The sidewalks will be cleaned and painted with concrete stain. The parking lot will receive a new 1.5” layer of asphalt and new striping will be applied to that new asphalt layer.

Existing Conditions:
The front façade to this convenience store/gas station has been damaged by backing delivery trucks. The entrance doors are very old and in poor shape. The parking lot is rough and stained and the sidewalks are very dirty.
 
Proposed Improvements:
New 8’ tall entrance doors will be installed, new canvas awnings will be installed on the façade, Fypon cornices will be installed on the façade, exterior soffit lighting will be upgraded, sidewalks will be cleaned and painted with concrete stain, 1.5” of asphalt will be applied to the parking lot, the lot will be re-striped, curbs will be painted, the front façade will be patched and painted, the gas island canopy curbs will be painted and a new ADA ramp will be installed.

This gas station/convenience store has the original red metal tile mansard roof covering which is faded, patched and worn. The parking lot is old, oil stained and rough. In addition, the concrete sidewalks need cleaning to remove old gum spots and other stains, and could use concrete staining to improve the appearance of the concrete.

Existing Conditions:
This food store/gas station is in the heart of the Immokalee commercial Main Street district. Due to its location, the building will receive improvements that bring character to the structure. The building’s front doors are also in bad shape and the parking lot and sidewalks are very rough. 
 
Proposed Improvements:
New 8’ tall entrance doors will be installed, new canvas awnings will be installed on the façade, Fypon cornices will be installed on the façade, exterior soffit lighting will be upgraded, sidewalks will be cleaned and painted with concrete stain, 1.5” of asphalt will be applied to the parking lot, the lot will be re-striped, curbs will be painted, the front façade will be patched and painted, the gas island canopy curbs will be painted and new parking bollards will be installed and custom painted with a local artistic flare.

Handy Food Store #92
120 West Delaware Avenue, Immokalee

Grant Award: $20,000

The Handy Store #92, which is located along South First Street in Immokalee’s business district, has recently completed the first phase of extensive renovations including a new UST fueling system, gas canopy, state-of-the-art gas pumps, landscaping and other site improvements. The next phase of improvements will be partially funded through the Immokalee CRA Commercial Façade Improvement Grant Program. The store will utilize the maximum benefit of $20,000 under the program to replace the deteriorating mansard roof system and replacement of the old storefront. The new roofing system will be comprised of Perma Tile simulated metal roofing which will have the architectural appeal of a classic Mediterranean roof while also providing the longevity of a metal roofing system. The new storefront will replace the existing cracked glass and discolored metal framing while also bringing a clean, modern look to the store.
